One of my favorite places on earth is Peggy's Cove. From hundreds of reference pictures that I took, I decided this time to display its lighthouse right in the center of a sun-setting sky. The play of light and shadow on the rocks mirrors the contrast of the sun setting behind the lighthouse. The use of warm yellows and oranges contrasts with the cooler tones of blue and purple, while the ocean in between creates a balance and links the sky to the earth.
