The giant Flowerpots of Hopewell Rocks along the long coast of the Bay of Fundy are one of my favorite subjects to paint. At low tide, the rocks dip their "toes" in the quiet water as the shore welcomes travelers and visitors to come and walk on the ocean floor. Their tops covered in pine trees like crowns of evergreens, their grandiosity is awe-inspiring. The neutral tones of this painting are a reflection of the quietude and peacefulness of the place, where you feel transported into another world in which none of the noise of the hustle and bustle of busy life can reach you.
