I once read that some communities around this world believe that when an elderly person passes away, it is the equivalent of losing a whole library of knowledge. Their wisdom is a university.This painting is a tribute to my grandmother. I decided to paint my mother's awe-inspiring white roses since the love of nature and mastery of gardening was passed on from my grandma to my mother who, in turn, is passing it on to my siblings and myself. So in a way, both my mom and I contributed and worked on this artwork in order to honour the strong, powerful, gentle, sweet and caring woman that my grandmother was.
