Oil Landscapes Paintings

Artist Sarah Hayek’s love of nature translates into her focus on painting landscapes mostly depicting the wonderful, scenic beauty of the Canadian coasts, forests and famous maritime spots. Working on a canvas that has been laid with a colorful base coat, she lays her tones and values while purposefully leaving gaps between brushstrokes to let the layers of colors marry each other in order to create a symphony of shades. Using a vivid, impressionistic palette, she manages to convey the emotion of a place and bring out the connection we feel towards nature and its gentle power.
