As I make my way down Signal Hill in Saint-John's harbour, in Newfoundland, the impossibly blue North-Atlantic ocean water seems to caress the coastal sides of the adjacent hill. The view opens to more shores and mounts in the distance and the ocean looks to be stretching forever in front of your eyes.
