This painting came to be in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic, as Easter looked to be called off and the world was battling a crisis. I decided to step away from landscape, which I was focused on up until that point and venture back into still life. I wanted this painting to have a little subtle and positive message to everyone who was having a difficult time and not sure what the next days and months are going to bring. So I decided to include with the yucca tree, my prayer plant and infuse it some precious vitamin C by adding oranges, in hopes that all of our prayers of health and safety be answered. As the world seems to be slowly waking up again, this painting still holds a fresh, positive and bright perspective.
